Club History




History of Rotaract Club of Peace City Hatton

It was an awesome time where few youngsters’ friendship turned  into a social benefit under the patron of Rotarian PP.PHF. Dinesh Sellaih from Rotary club of Wattala ,Thus his native place was Hatton. Rtn.PP. PHF. Dinesh Selliah initiated to start a Rotaract club in Nuwaraeliya District. As he was a past student of Highlands college first he initiated an interact club at Highlands college and finally his thought gave him a biggest vision and the mission to establish the Best and very first Rotaract club in Hatton.

Rtr.Dhivia Sritharan brought up the idea of Rtn.PP.PHF.Dinesh sellaih to involve few youngsters who  willingly gathered on 2016 June to establish a Rotaract club in the city of Hatton.

Innovative activities were carried out by the team before chattering the club as Rotaract, though it was a learning period about Rotary International and Rotaract the activities were appreciated by Rotary club of Wattala and it led all the youngsters to move further.

Rtr. PP. Abdull Bashith from District club services team (2016-17) guided us on a workshop saying "what is Rotaract " and "How it is functioning".

Then the executive committee was formed by the team. Rtr.PP Kinobarajee was  elected as a Charter President of Rotaract club of Peace City Hatton. Under the patron of Rtr.Kinobarajee and his board of directors worked very hard and the very first mass project SCATGI was hosted by the club.  Project The power of Women, where few ladies were recognized for their dedication and commitments to our very own society.Club logo was designed by Rtr.Thilojan and the motto of the club "United We Stand" was decided by the executive committe.

Rotaract club of Peace City Hatton was officially chartered on 22nd March 2018 as community based Rotaract club. The installation night was took place at Ajentha Guest house under the patron of sponsoring Rotary club President Rtn.PP.Prabath kumaresh ,Director of Youth services Chairperson Rtn . PP. PHF.  Dinesh selliah and Club advisor Rtn.PP.Dilhan Jayathilake . Also under the guidance of District Rotaract Representative PDRR.Rtr.PP.Anuradha Senanayake and The district steering commitee.

Signature project "Courage is to learn" and few other projects were carried out by the club after the Charter Installation. Rtr.Thilojan was awarded at the Rotaract District Assembly for the Rota year 2017-18 under the avenue of Spirit of service.

Second installation ceremony was held on 26th of August 2018 at Dine and Rest. The second president Rtr.PP.Vibanjini and her board of Directors were sworn as the excuitive committee of RACPCH. Installation ceremony was patroned by sponsoring Rotary club President Rtn.PP.PHF.Periyannan Sekar and under the guidance of District Rotaract Representative Rtn.PDRR.Rtr.PP.Amjith Yoosuf.

In the Rota year 2018-19 , RACPCH  Initiated lots of major and simple projects while carrying out the annual plan. Also the team members participated at District events, brother hood club initiatives, International projects, club Twinning and Rotary, Interact installation ceremonies.

Finally the Rota year 2018-19 came to an end with victorious march with Third President Elect Rtr.Pathmasritharan and his board of directors.

Third installation ceremony for the year 2019-20 was held on November 2019. Rtr.IPP Pathmasridharan  took over the responsibilities of the club. Under the patron of Sponsoring Rotary club president Rtn.PP.PHF Rajalingam and Director of youth services Chairperson Rtn.Jeyabalan. plus the District Rotaract Representative DRR.Rtr.PP.Krishan Balaji Most his mission were established for the benefit of the club and the members. Opportunities were created to put on the public relationship and specially to create friendship among the country and beyond the boarder as well.
